From Ahmedabad to the World Stage – The Journey of Dhwani Emmanuel

Dhwani Emmanuel’s life is a testament to how passion, discipline, and dedication can transform dreams into reality. Starting her artistic journey with Bharatanatyam in her early years, she later found her true calling in Kathak—training under legendary Gurus like Padmabhushan Kumudini Lakhia and Gurus Ishira Parikh & Maulik Shah.

Dhwani Emmanuel’s life is a testament to how passion, discipline, and dedication can transform dreams into reality. Starting her artistic journey with Bharatanatyam in her early years, she later found her true calling in Kathak—training under legendary Gurus like Padmabhushan Kumudini Lakhia and Gurus Ishira Parikh & Maulik Shah. Her relentless pursuit of excellence extended to Indian classical music, earning her the Sangeet Visharad and advanced training in Khayal Gayaki.

From leading roles with the iconic Kadamb Dance Company to performing at prestigious platforms like Kala Ghoda Festival, NCPA Mumbai, and even international festivals in Berlin and Poland, Dhwani’s artistry has crossed borders while staying rooted in tradition.

Her talent has been recognised with honours such as the Pride of India for Kathak 2023 and the Kal ke Kalakar award from the Gujarat State Sangeet Natak Academy. Beyond performance, Dhwani has shaped future artists as a lecturer, coordinator, and art administrator at respected institutions including Gujarat University, Natarani Amphitheatre, and Mahagami Gurukul.

Today, as a founder of Aeem Foundation’s art initiatives, she continues to nurture India’s cultural heritage while empowering artists across the nation. Dhwani’s journey embodies the spirit of a true cultural ambassador—celebrating tradition, embracing innovation, and inspiring countless others to follow their artistic dreams.
